Derek Dooley is a Republican Party candidate running for election to the U.S. Senate to represent Georgia. He is on the ballot for the Republican primary on May 19, 2026. He has launched his campaign against incumbent Jon Ossoff.
Earl 'Buddy' Carter was born in Port Wentworth, Georgia, in 1957. He earned an associate degree from Young Harris College in 1977 and a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the University of Georgia in 1980. He worked as a pharmacist and owned a pharmacy, and has served on the Pooler City Council (1994-1995), as Mayor of Pooler, Georgia (1996-2004), in the Georgia House of Representatives (2005-2009), and the Georgia Senate (2009-2014) before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2015. He is currently a member of the U.S. House, representing Georgia's 1st Congressional District, and is running for election to the U.S. Senate to represent Georgia in the Republican primary on May 19, 2026.
Jonathan McColumn earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia College in 1986 and master's degrees from Elmira College (1992), Webster University (2002), and U.S. Army War College (2010). His career includes serving as a clergyman, a General Officer in the U.S. Army, and an instructor at Phoenix University. He is running for election to the U.S. Senate to represent Georgia in the Republican primary on May 19, 2026.
Mike Collins was born and lives in Jackson, Georgia. He earned a bachelor's degree from Georgia State University in 1990 and his career experience includes owning the Collins Trucking Company. He is currently a member of the U.S. House, representing Georgia's 10th Congressional District since January 3, 2023, and is running for election to the U.S. Senate to represent Georgia in the Republican primary on May 19, 2026. He is Baptist.
