J. Wade Padgett was born on July 27, 1965, in Atlanta, Georgia. He served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Augusta Judicial Circuit and as a Superior Court Judge for the Augusta Judicial Circuit since 2009. He was appointed to the Georgia Court of Appeals on February 19, 2024, and assumed office on April 3, 2024, with his current term ending on December 31, 2026. He is married to Alice Wheatley Padgett and has two children.
