Bárbara Rivera Holmes is the Georgia Commissioner of Labor, appointed by Governor Brian Kemp on March 18, 2025, and assumed office on April 4, 2024. She is the first Latina to hold a statewide constitutional office in Georgia. Prior to her appointment, she served as the president and CEO of the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce and was a business reporter for the Albany Herald.
Bárbara Rivera Holmes advocates for empowering small businesses and entrepreneurs, modernizing the Department of Labor, expanding workforce development and skills training, fixing unemployment services, and fighting for competitive wages and safe workplaces. She also emphasizes economic development in rural areas and high-level education to benefit job seekers.
