Biography

Bárbara Rivera Holmes is the Georgia Commissioner of Labor, appointed by Governor Brian Kemp on March 18, 2025, and assumed office on April 4, 2024. She is the first Latina to hold a statewide constitutional office in Georgia. Prior to her appointment, she served as the president and CEO of the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce and was a business reporter for the Albany Herald.
